Type Publication Design
This project was all about making typography exciting again. There are plenty of articles out there explaining the features and importance of type, but let’s be honest most people don’t actually sit down to read them. There’s just too much text and not enough visual spark. So, I wanted to change that by transforming all that information into a fun, visually engaging book. Each spread was designed to show the beauty of typography, not just talk about it, giving readers a taste of what each article was about through design itself.

Process
To start, I read through all the articles to fully understand their messages and tones. Then I began experimenting with type carefully picking fonts that reflected the personality of each article while still keeping everything readable and cohesive. I also designed the body text to complement the headings rather than compete with them. Once the type choices felt right, I moved on to the overall look and feel: deciding on the book’s size, colour palette, and layout styles. Each spread went through multiple iterations until I found the perfect balance between creativity and clarity. Finally, I printed and hand-bound the pages using bookbinding glue, turning the designs into a tangible, interactive piece that makes learning about typography feel fresh and engaging.
