Okashii
This project started with one big thought, we throw away so much stuff. Perfectly good materials end up in landfills or floating around in the ocean, all because it’s easier to buy something new than to fix or reuse what we already have. I wanted to flip that mindset and show that “waste” can actually become something beautiful. So, I started turning everyday discarded items into earrings, fun, bold, and totally unique pieces that celebrate sustainability and self-expression. That’s how Okashii was born; a brand that embraces individuality and reminds people that it’s okay to be a little weird in fact, it’s what makes you stand out.

I began by diving into research on sustainability and the circular economy topics I’ve always been passionate about. I brainstormed about twenty different ideas for how to bring circular design to life, narrowed them down to three, gathered feedback, and finally chose the earring concept. Once I started creating the pieces, the brand began to take shape naturally. I developed the name Okashii and built a brand personality that matched its quirky, creative energy. From there, I designed the logo, refined it through multiple iterations, and styled a photoshoot to bring the brand to life visually. After editing the photos to align with the aesthetic, I created promotional materials like posters and Instagram content that captured the playful, eco-conscious spirit of Okashii.
